Travel diaries … Mexico with the 4 of them
Mexico was a world away from our ‘normal’ … and we soaked it all up.
We stayed in small town next to the coast and tiny villages far from any towns. In the tiny villages we soaked up village life and despite our extremely limited spanish , the kids made friends everywhere … proving language no barriers to fun and games.
The heat was tricky for us southern whimps … but superseded by everyone we met and the experiences we were invited into…
What are some of your biggest memories of Senor , Mexico ?
ARWEN - Senor was the best memory for me …. i loved making new friends , even if they couldn’t say my name , or that i couldn’t say their names.
We played the best games …especially the games with the balls.
I LOVED sleeping in the hammock in our straw hut… it was so hot and the hammock made it breezy.
WHAT HAS STAYED WITH ABOUT YOUR TIME IN MEXICO ?
ANTON - I remember how flat the lansdscape was , soooo flat and going birdwatching , the pendulum bird was amazing. The leaves on the trees were so different for me , so round and brown.
I remember riding in the tuk tuk all the way to a strange lake ..it was sooo bumpy we couldn’t talk . And then the lake , that was so warm , and discovering there were crocodiles in the lake … that was a bit scary to find out about after , quite pleased we didn’t see any (uh hum ….. yes … not my finest Mama moment finding out i had taken my kids swimming in a lake that inhabited crocodiles)
WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER THE MOST ABOUT TRAVELS IN MEXICO ?
What do you think about when you think of Senor Mexico?
BECCA - I remember how much fun it was playing with teh other kids , everyone was sooo friendly and happy.
I loved the hammocks in the hut…. also remember fighting over them.
The lake was so nice .. apart from the whole crocodile thing.
